當一個人很久沒出現 ，我們會用說這個人神隱了 ，那英文怎麼說呢? 我們可以用drop off the face of the earth 或是disappear off the face of the earth來表達 

A: Have you seen John lately? I have not seen him for almost a year. Did he drop off the face of the earth?

B: I guess so! Ever since he broke up with his girlfriend, he just disappeared off the face of the earth.

A: 你最近有看到John嗎? 我好像一年沒看到他了 ，他就這樣神隱了?

B: 大概吧! 自從他跟他女友分手後 ，他就神隱不見了

另外一個最近流行的諺語是drop off the grid或是live off the grid，意思是過沒有科技沒有網路沒有電力的大自然生活 ，grid指的是電路網格 所以live off the grid就是住在一個沒有電路網的地方, 延伸意思就是「過著沒有科技沒有網路沒有電力的大自然生活」

A: Sometimes I feel like I should leave the city and just live off the grid.

A:有時我覺得我應該離開這座城市,遠離喧囂。
